What is Whiplash?

Whiplash occurs when the neck gets “whipped” forward and then backward (or vice versa). The muscles of the neck contract and stiffen in an attempt to decelerate or slow down the forward motion of the neck and head. This contraction when combined with force and acceleration can cause muscle spasms and muscle damage which may also produce headaches and long lasting pain symptoms . The ligaments connecting the spine may have been also damaged in the process. We can help relieve these symptoms.

Massage & Movement Therapy can help reduce or eliminate whiplash symptoms by:

  • Increasing blood flow to the affected region
  • Help regain control of your neck and spine
  • Restore healthy tissue quality in both muscle and fascia around the affected area

Why Choose Optimal Wellness?

Our specialists have had a lot of success with treating whiplash symptoms. We will take the time to develop a treatment plan for you. We will also explain exactly what happened and will provide a home care routine to help get you feeling better.
